Rosherville Celebrates Vaisakhi with the Sikh Community
Rosherville celebrated Vaisakhi on Tuesday! Children were dressed in their traditional clothes or anything bright. This is one of the most important times for Sikhs across the world when the first Sikh was initiated. The children enjoyed learning about Vaisakhi through acting, the meaning and importance of the Khanda and they had some fun learning Bhangra. We were also very lucky to taste some fantastic Indian food provided by our parents, so a huge thank you to all who contributed and helped out!
In Dr Seuss class, they celebrated by creating kites using paper plates, ribbons, coloured pens and glitter. They made sure their kites were bright and colourful to represent the Sikh celebration and listened to some Punjabi music while making them.
It was a wonderful day of learning, celebration and community!
