Welcome to Julia Donaldson Class 

Our teachers are Miss Pearce on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Mrs Hicks on Thursday and Friday. Our teaching assistant is Miss Wood.

Our Topic 

Our topic in Term 1 is Guess Who? We will be learning about people from the past who have made our lives better today. We will be focussing on Tim Berners-Lee who invented the World Wide Web, William Saxton who was the first English printer and Rosa Parks who refused to give up her seat on the bus to a white man. In Art, we will be studying portraits of famous people and learning how to create our own portraits using different mediums including pencils, paint and photography. In our Computing lessons we will be learning about Information Technology and how it is used in our everyday lives. We will also be learning about e-safety and how we can stay safe when we are using information technology.

Special Events 

Harvest Festival

We will be celebrating Harvest Festival this term and will have the opportunity to bring in food items to donate to local food banks. We will also be having a special Harvest Festival assembly.

National Poetry Day

We will be celebrating National Poetry Day by learning all about famous poets and discovering new poems to enjoy.


For our WOW Day this term we will have the opportunity to dress up as an inspirational famous person from the past who has helped our lives to be better today.

Online Learning 

Homework will be set on Google Classroom, My Maths and Spelling shed.

Any child that is isolating due to Covid will have access to the School work on Google Classroom daily.

All children will find their login in details for all the above in their contact books.
