Welcome to William Shakespeare Class
Our teacher is Mrs Burrha and our teaching assistant is Mrs Dolphin. Mr Warner will also be part of our team as he trains to be a teacher over the academic year.
This term our topic will be Ice Trap. We will travelling through the frozen continent – ANTARCTIC – and discover how Shackleton and his crew tried to reach the South Pole.
The medium term plan attached outlines what the children will be learning this term for all subjects. Also attached is a list of books we think will further enrich their understanding. Knowledge organisers for both Ice Trap and Science (Evolution and Inheritance) are also attached which will help the children to understand what we are learning and the vocabulary needed.
This page is updated frequently with children’s work so please check this page regularly.
Helping your child
Reading – Please encourage your child to read daily. We use Accelerated Reading so they can quiz on their books and earn points and prizes!
Maths – We use the White Rose resources. If you would like to support your child further then please click on the link below to access their workbooks.
Homework – This will be linked to whatever they are learning in class for both Maths and Literacy so the children should be able to do this independently. However, if your child needs help then please encourage them to ask for help.
Homework can be set on Google Classroom, Mymaths and Spelling shed.
All children will find their login in details for all the above in their contact books.
Support – If you need any support please just send us a message on Seesaw or Google Classroom and we can call you to help in whatever way we can.

OUR ANTARCTIC ARTWORK
We created the icebergs using tissue paper and painted it white with hints of blue.
The sky and ocean were created using thick and thin brush strokes and different shades of blue.
We followed a you-tube video on how to draw an Emperor penguin and then cut it out, coloured it and stuck it on.
As you can see the artwork is impressive.
