Welcome to Onjali Rauf Class (Year 4/5)

In Rauf’s Class, our teacher is Mr Edwards and our TAs are Mrs Carter and Miss Street.

In Terms 1 and 2, our topic is All About Me where we will be focussing on our local area, learning geographical and historical skills incorporating Gravesend and Northfleet. We will also be visiting the local Gurdwara.

In Terms 3 and 4, our topic is the Vikings. During this topic, we will be welcoming a workshop to come in and take us back to the Viking ages and experience how they lived. We will be experiencing how children lived and tasted the food they would eat when we try our own baking of soda bread.

Terms 5 and 6 will be Discovering America where we will explore the unknown secrets of the country as well as look at inspirational figures and how the geography of the area has changed over the years. We will complete a geographical case study about the Grand Canyon.

PE is on Tuesdays when the children are expected to bring in a PE kit that is suitable for the activities, they are taking part in. Children should always bring in joggers, shorts, a white t-shirt, a jumper and trainers. Swimming is Thursday afternoons, and the children should wear fitted swimming costumes. No bikinis.

Lastly, we ensure to follow the national curriculum for the primary curriculum in England for programmes of study and attainment targets for KS2.

We look forward to welcoming you into Onjali Rauf Class!

Timetable

Our timetable can be downloaded below. Here, parents and pupils have the opportunity to view the class schedule to see the day-to-day routine including the range of curriculum that is covered. We have found that children with SEND have responded well to visually seeing the structure of the day ahead.

Our learning this year will be based on the topics below and will change accordingly each term.
