Blueprint Arts | Creative Writing and Drama Workshop

Local creative company Blueprint Arts recently delivered an exciting Creative Writing and Drama workshop for our pupils based on the Princess Alice Disaster, an important event in the history of Gravesend.
Pupils were invited to step into the role of reporters investigating the tragic sinking of the Princess Alice. Through a series of interactive zones, they gathered clues, examined belongings, and explored eyewitness accounts to piece together what happened.
Using the information they discovered, pupils then created their own newspaper reports, combining historical understanding with creative writing skills. The workshop brought local history to life through drama, investigation, and storytelling, encouraging pupils to think like historians and journalists while developing their writing.
It was a memorable and engaging experience that connected pupils with the history of the River Thames and their local community.
