Year 6 Class Teacher: Mrs S Burrha

Welcome to Morpurgo Class
My name is Mrs Burrha and I am the class teacher. I am also Acting Deputy Head. I try to take the children on a number of trips during the course of the year to further enrich their knowledge. Imperial War Musuem is a trip I enjoy taking the children to as they experience life as an evacuee for our history lessons. Year 6 also go on a residential as long as we have the numbers. I look forward to teaching the children this year and give them some memorable experiences.

Welcome to Morpurgo Class (Year 6)

The children are taught all the main subjects from the National Curriculum. The long-term overview, which can be found below, outlines what is taught and when.

PE is taught every Monday, so children need to come to school in their PE kits – white t-shirt with dark blue or black shorts or joggers and trainers. In Terms 1 and 2 the children also go swimming every Thursday so must bring a swimming costume with a towel on this day.

Morpurgo class children also take part in a number of key roles within the school. They are part of the School council, voted by the children at the beginning of the year and guide other school council members from the younger year groups. The pupils are also house captains, so are responsible for collecting house points at the end of each week as well as being play time and lunch time monitors. The children also set up the hall every day for Worship and lead Celebration assembly every Friday.
