Year 5 – Rauf Class

Class Information

Year 5 Class Teacher: Mrs S Henriksen

Rauf Class is taught by Mrs Henriksen. I am really happy to have joined Rosherville School this year. Year 5 can is a busy year, with lots of exciting and challenging learning. I know that as a class we will grow together, with lots of laughter and make some fabulous memories

Welcome to Rauf Class (Year 5)

Throughout the year, the children are taught all the subjects from the National Curriculum. Most subjects are taught each week but some alternate termly (Geography/History and Art/DT) this enables us to focus fully on the units of work. Below you will find some useful links and documents to support your child’s learning at home.

PE is taught every Tuesday, P.E kits – plain, white t-shirt with dark blue or black shorts or joggers and trainers. In Terms 1 and 2 we go swimming every Thursday, children should bring swimwear with a towel on this day (goggles are also permitted and long hair must be tied back) but should wear school uniform, with comfortable walking footwear. Earrings must be removed for swimming so please remove them at home if your child struggles to do this alone. Friday children will have Forest School wellies and clothes that cover the body are required and remember they will get muddy!

Timetable

Our timetable can be downloaded below. Here, parents and pupils have the opportunity to view the class schedule to see the day-to-day routine including the range of curriculum that is covered. We have found that children with SEND have responded well to visually seeing the structure of the day ahead.

Our learning this year is outlined in the long-term plan (link below) and will change accordingly each term. You can also access Knowledge Organisers and our timetable.

At Rosherville Church of England Academy, we have introduced ‘50 Things Before I Leave Rosherville Primary’, this helps to give children the opportunity to tick off big items throughout their primary years.

More Information about the subjects can be found on our curriculum pages.
