Rosherville Celebrates Rosh Hashanah
The whole school celebrated Rosh Hashanah - a Jewish celebration of a new start and the creation of the world.
Morpurgo Class hosted a Macmillian Coffee afternoon on Friday 26th September.
The children thoroughly enjoyed their roles today and were fantastic hosts. Macmillan Cancer Support is very worthwhile charity, so thank you to everyone who came along and supported the class and the charity.

Year 5 students have been exploring the significance of pomegranates and apples in relation to the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah.
These fruits, rich in symbolism, represent the wishes for a sweet and fruitful year ahead, with the pomegranate, in particular, symbolizing the hope for a year filled with good deeds. This hands-on learning experience not only deepens their understanding of cultural traditions but also serves as an insight to them about the importance of reflection, growth, and setting goals.

The whole school celebrated Rosh Hashanah - a Judith celebration of a new start and the creation of the world.
The children in Morpurgo class did a wide range of activities -
Collages a Star of David, made a box for their sweets, wrote how to forgive on the outline of our hands and did some quizzes and word searches. The most fun part was eating apples dipped in honey which symbolises the hope of a sweet new year.
