Children’s Mental Health Week

Children’s Mental Health Week

This week has been Children’s Mental Health Week, the theme was ‘This is my place.’ In Dr Seuss Class, we joined the live assembly with Picture News and thought of what that means to us and where we feel like we belong. The children came up with some fantastic ideas. We heard the story ‘Sylvia’s candle’ read aloud by Author Katie Hopper. We discussed how we can help light people’s candles and the impact our actions have on others. As well as remembering we all have a light inside of us which shines bright and how we can keep it shining bright ourselves. The children drew what and who are special to them. We also played some games where we got to know each other better, sharing our favourite things and asking others about what they like. It has been wonderful to highlight the ways in which we make others feel like they belong.
