STEMazing Workshops for Zephaniah Class!
Zephaniah Class has been having great fun attending the Ste-amazing workshops over the past three weeks, where they have had the opportunity to develop new skills in Technology, Science, Maths, and Engineering.
In our STEM 1 – STEMAZING Structures workshop, we discussed why shapes are important in the world around us. We explored how the same material can become much stronger simply by changing its shape. The children experimented by building and testing paper columns of different shapes to investigate vertical structures.
In STEM 2 – Amazing Aerodynamics, we experimented with various designs to observe how they interact with air, depending on their shape and weight.
In STEM 3 – Energy Explorers, we learned about different types of energy and why energy is important. Using our design and artistic skills, we created a Potential Energy Popper to transform potential energy into kinetic energy, and we carried out exciting projectile tests.
Overall, the workshops have provided a wonderful opportunity for hands-on learning and scientific exploration.
