Rosherville CofE Academy Celebrates ‘Good’ Ofsted Inspection Result.
A Gravesham primary academy has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, for the first time since it opened.
Rosherville CofE Academy, part of Aletheia Academies Trust, achieved an overall ‘Good’ judgement from OFSTED.
The report was published early this month following a visit to the academy on September 27 and 28, with the inspectors taking a “deep dive” into many core subjects of the curriculum, assessing the quality of pupils’ education, and ensuring that staff feel well supported in their workload and wellbeing.
The report stated that Rosherville CofE Academy “is a friendly place where everyone cares about each other”.
The school was praised for their leadership with a particular focus on “their inclusive ethos within the school; where staff understand and meet the needs of all pupils, including disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND”.
During the inspection, OFSTED gathered views from the parents where they highlighted “Rosherville is a small school with big aspirations where everyone goes above and beyond for their children”.
Many parents shared the view that their children are ‘thriving’ and that Rosherville is ‘more like a family than just a school’.
Mrs Justine Roddan, the academy’s Head of School, has led the school since 2017.
“I am delighted that after 5 years of hard work from all sections of our community we finally have the Ofsted good judgement that this school so deserves. I am incredibly proud of the children and staff here at Rosherville. The children are so enthusiastic about their learning and represent our school with such pride.
She said: “I am so grateful to have such a dedicated staff team here who put the children’s best interests at the heart of everything they do. A huge thank you to all our parent governors and of course Aletheia Academies Trust who have supported us on this journey and continue to make our school community such a special one”.
Aletheia Academies Trust was also commended, with Ofsted stating that Aletheia Academies Trust has brought significant improvements to the school and “without question, the support provided by the trust has been and continues to be pivotal to the school’s continued improvement”.
Stephen Carey, Aletheia Academies Trust CEO, added: “We are delighted that the school has received the recognition that it deserves. The entire school community including staff, parents and governors are devoted to improving the life chances of local children. The school now has incredibly strong foundations to build upon as we begin the next stage of the journey towards the relocation of the school to a new site on the Cable Wharf development, which is set to open in September 2024”.
Rosherville CofE Academy looks to the future to further enhance its aim of developing lifelong learners that have a clear understanding of the world through the acquisition of skills and knowledge.
Rosherville is set to increase its Published Admission Number upon the move to the new site on Cable Wharf, allowing extra provisions for more children in the local community.
